About Us and What We Do

Green Island Environmental Technologies Limited (GIETL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Green Island Cement, aims to provide a complete solution to her client on waste management.

Green Island Cement (GIC) is the largest cement manufacturer in HK with its operating facility located at Tap Shek Kok, Tuen Mun. The cement plant is licensed to use a number of Waste Derived Fuel, Waste-originated Material in its process to replace coal usage, and natural resources usage.

In cement manufacturing, natural resources like limestone and coal are essential for production. GIETL aims to minimize the use of these resources by upcycling local waste materials, transforming them into valuable components for cement.

Projects About

Alternative Material

As a subsidiary of Green Island Cement, GIETL is seeking alternative recycled materials to original coal fuel or raw materials making clinker.

Logistic Arrangement

GIETL uses electric truck to deliver and collect alternative materials, which aims to minimize carbon footprint during logistic and road-side emissions.

Cement Manufacturing

The recycled materials would transfer to cement plant, which to be utilized as raw materials, fuel or additives in cement production.

Our Projects

ShellCem

Shellcem project introduces oyster shell as an alternative to limestone in cement manufacturing. This project involves collecting oyster shells generated from consumer consumption at hotels and restaurants. They are transported directly to the cement plant.

Waste Tyre Recycling

As rubber tyre contains a considerable amount of energy, the waste tyres are used as an alternative fuel to coal in cement manufacturing after being crushing down into powder. This practice supports the heating requirements of cement kiln.
